Childcare Floater

 Bright Light Academy is seeking an experienced teacher to join our  teaching teams as a transitional teacher (floater) to work with both our one & two-year old classes. The ideal candidates will have at least two years experience working with young children, preferably between the ages of one & three years old, be a team player & have a passion for early learning. Candidates MUST qualify as an Assistant Group Supervisor with DHS. CDA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with other toddler teachers to plan & implement daily lesson plans & activities.
• Help create a safe & stimulating classroom environment for one-year olds.
• Monitor & engage with children during playtime, meals & other daily routines.
• Provide individual & group support to children as needed.
• Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development & progress.
• Complete child assessments & participate in parent/teacher conferences.

Qualifications:

• Two+ years experience working with young children, preferably toddlers.
• Must qualify as an Assistant Group Supervisor or Group Supervisor with DHS.
• Pass state, federal & child abuse background checks.
• Be 18 years or older & able to work in the United States.
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Be able to lift up to 40lbs, see, hear & sit on the floor with children.
• Must be patient, nurturing & able to create a positive learning environment.
• A CDA or higher in Early Childhood Education, Children & Families or Child Development are preferred.

Position Overview:

• This is a full-time, year round position.
• Pay range starts at $16.50 up to $18.00 (relative to experience & education - higher for degreed teacher) per hour with a pay increase based on performance & education at the end of a 90 day probation period.
• Full-time staff also receive paid holidays, PTO, sick-time,dental or vision insurance, reduced child care & more.
• Full-time staff work a four-day work week
