Engagement Director / Deployment Director

About us:

Apiphany AI builds the world’s leading software for data-driven decision-making and manufacturing company operations. By bringing the right data to the people who need it, our platform empowers our partners to build cars, planes, medical devices, engines, and more.

The Role:

At its core, the Engagement Director / Deployment Director role centers around leveraging the platform, building partner relationships, and storing data in operational and real-world action. Our partners come to us with the insight that the only way to manufacture high-quality products is to make better use of their data. The Deployment Strategist is responsible for turning that insight into reality.

Must-Have Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates with a combination of Strategic Consulting experience (4-8 years) plus either educational background or professional experience in the following areas: Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, Electrical, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Automotive, or Automation/Robotics. The ideal candidate will have 7-10+ years of overall experience with at least 4+ in Strategic Consulting.

For the Consulting experience, we are looking for candidates with experience at a Big 4 or Big 4-like Strategic Consulting firm. Preferred firms include Bain, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), McKinsey, Ernst & Young (E&Y), Deloitte, Accenture, or PwC.

Additionally, candidates must live in the San Francisco Bay Area or be willing to relocate to be considered as we require 4-5 days in office.

What You Will Do:

As an Engagement Director / Deployment Director, you'll work as part of a driven and creative team of Engineers, Product Designers, and other Deployment Strategists to deploy software against the most exciting problems the manufacturing world faces. Your mission is to synthesize disconnected streams of thought into an understanding of what the most important problem is, what the data means, what the product needs, what users are motivated by, and where the impact could be. You'll immerse yourself in our customers' most intricate workflows. You'll partner with customer teams, explore the data, and plunge into the product landscape to enable us to scale. In this role, the problems you'll seek will require a curious and analytical approach, a sharp intuition for product priorities, and a strong degree of user empathy to ultimately empower our partners to improve decisions.

No two days are the same, but you can expect to work across:

Partner Success:

  1. Expanding on and developing strong partner relationships and a deep understanding of their workflows and processes.
  2. Leveraging the relationship to identify existing and emerging problems.
  3. Engaging the relevant stakeholders, from analysts to C-Suite, to present existing and future work at steering committees.
  4. Working with the customer to build customized workflows for new user groups.
  5. Building and delivering demos to new and existing customers.
  6. Scoping out potential engagements in new industries and expanding locations around the world.
  7. Leading training sessions to ensure that the product is meeting user needs and having a concrete impact on their operations.
  8. Presenting the results of our work and proposals for future work to audiences ranging from analysts to C-suite executives.

Product:

  1. Developing a deep understanding of the Apiphany platform.
  2. Embedding with our Software Engineering and Product Design teams to incorporate what you saw in the field into the platform.
  3. Developing a deep understanding of industry-wide and partner-specific sources of data.
  4. Driving internal problem-solving by acting as the partner advocate to deliver innovation.
  5. Working with the engineering team to integrate the data into a stable and extensible pipeline.

What We Value:

  1. Extraordinary ability to bring structure to open-ended problems in unstructured environments.
  2. Team members who aren’t satisfied with surface-level answers will dive into the details of the data.
  3. Low ego because the outcome matters more than who gets the credit.
  4. Adaptive and introspective; willing to learn, guide, lead, and follow.

Nice to Have:

  1. 2-5+ years as a client/customer-facing project lead, managing teams and working directly with senior stakeholders.
  2. Enjoys delivering insights from data analysis, AI models, and driving impact.
  3. Experience with programming, scripting, or statistical packages (e.g., Python, R, Matlab, SQL).
