Senior Associate


Altura Capital a diverse, results-driven social impact investment firm, is seeking their next Senior Associate focusing on deal execution and portfolio monitoring activity. Position Summary: Senior Associate

Reporting to the Vice President, the Senior Associate plays an integral role in the full investment cycle from identifying potential opportunities, modeling & valuation, collaborating on deal structuring, engaging with portfolio companies regarding strategic support for growth, and actively contributing to the investment committee. The Senior Associate collaborates with Altura’s senior investment professionals and portfolio company management teams. There is potential for long-term growth within the firm, as the team has a desire to promote from within.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Leverage the Firm’s networks to identify and source attractive investment opportunities and work in a team environment to select portfolio company investments.
  • Manage and review new investment opportunities including all aspects of new investments/M&A, due diligence, advise on deal structuring, modeling, participate/present in investment committee meetings, deal execution and company reporting.
  • Review and approve (or prepare, as needed) detailed company financial models, including valuation and financial analysis.
  • Participate as a value-added member of portfolio company strategy meetings and actively work with portfolio company management in all areas relating to strategic and management support, including revenue and EBITDA growth, operational initiatives, financial reporting and add-on acquisitions.
  • Review and approve (or prepare, as needed) investment memoranda for the Investment Committee.
  • Mentor/coach the Firm’s Associates and other junior professionals to cultivate their skill sets, technical abilities, investment acumen and overall firm contributions.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field. MBA preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience at a top Investment Bank/ Private Equity Firm, or similar setting.
  • Fluent in all facets of the private equity investment process, including diligence, financial and business analysis, and transaction negotiation. Must possess the ability to build financial models, valuation and risk/reward analyses for potential opportunities and how to develop/maintain a documentation process for all investments, including investment memorandums and deal structure summaries.
  • Proven investment sourcing skills including the ability to develop market mapping strategies, generate targets and qualify investment opportunities, and build/maintain a network of contacts with management teams, investment bankers/intermediaries, social networks and other relevant centers of influence.
  • Advanced skills in Excel/modeling and PowerPoint.
  • Self-starter: ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong work ethic and data-driven mindset with excellent communication skills. Ability to liaise with 3rd party advisors in a pressured environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills: team player; proactive, thoughtful, good listener, non-egotistical, ability to handle conflict, high-level of emotional intelligence, a consensus builder, as well as having the ability to adapt to Altura’s culture.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Thrive at working under pressure and striking the right balance between working on own initiative and consulting with others when problems arise.


Location: This position works onsite in the Coral Gables, Florida office.


Compensation and Schedule: This is a full-time, exempt position with a competitive salary, bonus, PTO, and comprehensive insurance benefits.
