Job Title: Vice President of Biology and Translational Research

Location: California - East Bay - San Francisco

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Biology and Translational Research to lead our innovative research team in California. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding our biology and translational research initiatives from discovery through clinical development. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong scientific background and the ability to drive our research programs towards impactful therapeutic solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the biology and translational research teams to drive the discovery and development of new therapeutics.
  • Develop and implement research strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the design, execution, and interpretation of preclinical and translational studies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical development, regulatory, and commercial teams, to ensure seamless progression of research projects.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in the field and integrate novel approaches into the research pipeline.
  • Foster relationships with academic, clinical, and industry partners to enhance research capabilities and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain high standards of scientific integrity and quality.
  • Mentor and develop team members, promoting a culture of scientific excellence and innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in biological research, with significant experience in translational research.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading research programs and teams.
  • Strong understanding of drug discovery and development processes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute effectively.
  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
