Sunnyvale, United States Amazon Full time

Description

Excited about robotics, and how it will be used in our everyday lives? The Amazon Consumer Robotics group is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, making the future closer than ever.

Astro is Amazon’s first household robot to use AI and Intelligent Motion to gracefully and intuitively interact with people and spaces. It is a different kind of robot, one that’s designed to help customers with a range of tasks like home monitoring and keeping in touch with family. It brings together new advancements in artificial intelligence, human-robot interactions, computer vision, sensor technology, voice and edge computing in a package that’s designed to be helpful and endearing.

As a Principal Product Manager in Amazon's Consumer Robotics group, you will help create and drive the product strategy, vision, and roadmap, with a high degree of ownership over critical features and the customer experience. This role is inherently cross-functional - you will work closely with engineering, design, marketing, user research, finance, and executive teams to envision, develop, and launch innovative products.

A successful candidate will be both creative and highly analytical, able to work extremely effectively in a matrix organization, and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into products and applications that customers love. We are looking for someone customer obsessed and technology savvy, with a proven track record of creating successful consumer products and services.

Join us. Have fun. Make history.

  4. Inspire the team with the product vision, and work cross-functionally to bring that vision to life
  5. Write requirements documents, define use cases and CX, and own the business metrics and KPIs for your products and services
  6. Drive product launches, including working with public relations, marketing, executives, and other product management team members
  7. Serve as the product expert, assisting marketing with press briefing, industry talks, and white papers

Basic Qualifications

  1. 10+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
  2. Bachelor's degree

  5. Experience with end to end product delivery
  6. Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  1. MBA and/or post-graduate engineering/science degree
  2. Experience developing and launching V1 consumer products and services; comfort with ambiguity and nascent markets
  3. Familiarity or experience with robotics, autonomous systems, computer vision, computer learning, IoT products and/or Alexa products
  4. Experience using rapid prototyping and other creative mechanisms to gather direct customer feedback throughout the product development process
  5. Passion to dive deep into highly technical topics with engineers and scientists with a customer-centric mindset
  6. Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to influence others
