Our client is a Healthcare Services Provider that is expanding their Hospice and Physician Services (physician care, mobile doc, and transitional care services). We are seeking an experienced Chief Clinical Officer (Administrator) to join their leadership team to oversee the clinical and operational functions of the Hospice and Physician Services offerings which are rapidly expanding.


The Chief Clinical Officer will be responsible for the strategic planning, directing, organizing, staffing, budgeting, and reporting for all clinical operations and patient care activities in support of the Hospice and Physician Services divisions.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team in the development of clinical operations, growth plans, etc., for the hospice and physician services organization.
  • Lead the innovation and implementation of hospice and physician services.
  • Recruit, hire, orient, supervise, and coach direct staff for the hospice and physician services organization.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, direction and support for staff within the hospice and medical physicians services organization
  • Responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the hospice and physician services to achieve exceptional client service, quality, and cost control.
  • Present consistent and transparent performance reporting to multiple stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships within the hospice and physician services communities.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee operational models providing cost-effective, quality care for all patients.
  • Develop and propose quarterly & annual budgets for collaboration and approval with the Executive Leadership Team and be responsible for ensuring services meet budget expectations.
  • Continually review medical services systems, processes, procedures, and policies to promote innovation, integration, collaboration, and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and other relevant regulations and healthcare standards.
  • Participate regularly in internal and external hospice care related education programs, as is necessary to assure positive vendor/physician relations, educational requirements, regulatory compliance, etc.


Necessary Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships throughout the company and with outside contacts.
  • Ability to measure financial and operations KPIs against forecasts and budgets
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of hospice health care services.
  • Knowledge of physician services.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Effective oral and written communications skills
  • Proficient in computer application systems.
  • Ability to keep accurate records and produce timely and accurate written reports.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as required for HIPAA and other regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.


Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field.
  • Registered Nurse.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in hospice care services.
  • Five (5) years of experience in physician related services preferred.
  • Deep understanding of Payors including Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial Insurance
  • Ability to thrive in a growth mode environment.
  • Deep ties with clinicians in the community in multiple disciplines.
  • Knowledge and experience with Clinical Process Improvement.
  • Experience with organizations with a minimum census of 300 patients.
  • Experience with Insurance and related credentialing.
  • Experience with KanTime preferred.
