Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Investment Strategy and Due Diligence:

    • Identify and evaluate alternative investment opportunities across various asset classes, analyzing potential risks, returns, and market trends.
    • Conduct thorough due diligence on investment managers, fund strategies, and underlying assets to assess suitability and alignment with investment objectives.
    • Develop investment strategies and recommendations based on comprehensive analysis and market insights.
  2. Portfolio Management and Optimization:

    • Manage alternative investment portfolios, including asset allocation, rebalancing, and performance monitoring.
    • Implement portfolio diversification strategies to optimize risk-adjusted returns and achieve investment objectives.
    • Monitor investment performance, track market trends, and adjust portfolio allocations based on changing market conditions and investment goals.
  3. Relationship Management and Collaboration:

    • Build and maintain relationships with external investment managers, fund sponsors, and industry professionals to source investment opportunities and monitor portfolio managers' performance.
    • Collaborate with internal investment teams, including research analysts, legal advisors, and compliance officers, to ensure alignment with investment policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, performance reviews, and strategic insights on alternative investments.
  4. Risk Management and Compliance:

    • Assess and manage risks associated with alternative investments, including liquidity risk, market risk, operational risk, and regulatory compliance.
    • Ensure adherence to investment guidelines, regulatory standards, and internal controls in all aspects of alternative investment management.
    • Conduct periodic reviews and stress tests to evaluate portfolio resilience and sensitivity to market volatility.
  5. Reporting and Analysis:

    • Prepare comprehensive investment reports, performance summaries, and investment memos for internal stakeholders and clients.
    • Present investment recommendations, portfolio reviews, and market updates to investment committees and senior management.
    • Utilize financial modeling and analytics tools to analyze portfolio performance, benchmarking, and scenario analysis.

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree and/or CFA, CAIA designation preferred).
  • Proven experience as an Alternative Investments Manager, Portfolio Manager, or Investment Analyst specializing in alternative asset classes.
  • Strong knowledge of alternative investment strategies, including private equity, hedge funds, real estate, infrastructure, and venture capital.
  • Analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling, due diligence, and investment analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners.
  • Risk management expertise with the ability to assess and mitigate risks associated with alternative investments.
  • Familiarity with investment management software, portfolio analytics tools, and industry databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Preqin).
