ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Communications Manager to develop all facets of communication related to the CEO's Office in partnership with the CEO. This includes driving internal communication, engaging with external stakeholders, media relations, and social media.

In this role, you will report directly to the CEO as a trusted partner, responsible for crafting and executing communications strategies in the office. You will be the "Voice of Fred", an unsung hero making sure that the CEOs communications are disseminated in an accurate and timely manner. On a daily basis, you will also collaborate with other senior members of the CEOs Office including the Chief of Staff and members of the Executive Committee.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Planning: Developing and executing a comprehensive CEO communications strategy (in collaboration with the CEO) for 2024 and beyond
  • Internal Communications: Drafting weekly CEO updates, Board Memos, and other internal CEO communications, with over 500 employees
  • External Communications: Drafting interviews, speeches, talking points and other external communications in respect of the CEO
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Drafting impact reports to funders, investor updates and maintaining regular schedule of communications with key stakeholders.
  • Thought Leadership: Managing the CEOs owned media including personal websites, blogs and newsletters. Amplifying the CEO's voice on strategic topics aligned with Sand's vision, including innovation, sustainability, diversity, and digital equity.
  • Social Media Strategy: Managing the Social Media Specialist, to build strategies and leverage platforms to drive engagement across priority audiences and topics.
  • Process Implementation: Implementing processes that facilitate long-term planning, high-quality content gathering, and rigorous execution across all facets of CEO communications.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Law or other related field
  • 5+ years of communications leadership experience.
  • Proven expertise in speech writing, messaging, and creating compelling talking points.
  • Strong executive presence that instills trust and confidence.
  • Strategic mindset with a deep understanding of B2B technology, current events, and business trends.
  • Sound judgment and ability to balance short- and long-term priorities with discipline.
  • Experience managing an executive's social media presence effectively.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates calm adaptability to change.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with external agency partners to maximize impact.
  • Versatile individual capable of navigating complex communication challenges and contributing to the strategic objectives of the organization.
