POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for managing a broad range of duties to support the daily operations of HR programs within an organization. They are not only administrative experts and a people champion, but also a change agent and partner for the business operations. The HR Generalist is responsible for integration of new employees, administration and education of benefit programs, and identification of performance, development, and employee relations needs. This position serves as a resource for employees throughout the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under the direction of HR leadership, work with management and personnel to solve conflicts and help facilitate positive employee relations, maintain a good working environment, build morale, and decrease unwanted turnover.
  • Help the organization become future-ready by focusing on the existing workforce in the organization and prepare them for the future.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and occupational health and safety.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to HR leadership.
  • Partner with the Culture Committee to build and maintain a strong organizational culture, as well as continuously improving the employee experience.
  • Provide guidance and interpretation of HR processes and policies with direction from the VP, Talent & Engagement.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Perform other projects and related duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • At least five years of progressive human resource generalist experience required.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP a plus.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with team members across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and deadlines while managing multiple projects.
  • Detail-oriented with strong administrative and analytical skills.
  • Personality Attributes: self-starter, inquisitive and intellectually curious, effectively work with minimal supervision, detailed problem solver/critical thinker, pro-active and resourceful, exceptional communication skills, organized, high energy level.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
