The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a division of Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County. The ReStore mission is to generate revenue through the sale of donated building materials and household items to support HFHG's operating budget. Through its efforts, the ReStore facilitates recycling, minimizes landfill waste, provides low-cost home improvement items, and increases Habitat's visibility in our community.


SUMMARY:

The ReStore Associate/Donation Ambassador will serve as a 'floater' between the ReStores and the Donation Trucks, as needed.


RESTORE ASSOCIATE:

The purpose of the ReStore Associate is to assist the Store Manager in making sure that all aspects of the ReStore's daily operation are fulfilled in a timely and excellent manner. This includes making sure our donors, customers, and volunteers receive the highest quality experience possible when interacting with Habitat for Humanity. Associates are the face of Habitat for Humanity to the ReStore's local community and the staff that they lead, and are expected to exemplify Habitat's core values at all times.


RESTORE ASSOCIATE ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • Operate Forklift, pallet jack, and other basic material moving equipment.
  • Assist customers and donors in the loading and unloading of merchandise.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and safety in the ReStore.
  • Price and display donations on the sales floor appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Help build customers' understanding of how the ReStore helps to support the mission of Habitat.
  • All other duties as assigned by Supervisor.


DONATION AMBASSADOR:

As a Donation Ambassador, this person will be the dedicated team member to substitute on our trucks when necessary and/or add an additional truck to the routes, as needed. As a Donation Ambassador, they are responsible for donation pick up/drop off and loading/unloading of merchandise. As the face of the organization in the community, Donation Ambassadors are always expected to exemplify Habitat's core values and ensure that donors receive a positive experience


DONATION AMBASSADOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Always provide excellent customer service
  • Provide every donor with an accurate tax receipt
  • Oversee and direct truck helper in donor services and safety.
  • Maintain consistent and appropriate communication with dispatch.
  • Understand and enforce the guidelines for acceptable donations.
  • Operate donation truck in a manner that is in compliance with all DOT, State, and Federal laws and regulations.
  • Inspect vehicle daily for proper operation and safety, maintaining a clean and professional looking truck.
  • Proper handling of all donation items to ensure safety and reduce damage.
  • All other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Be able to lift 50lbs. and team lift 100lbs
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to easily jump between different areas/departments
  • Cash handling experience a plus, but not required
  • Material handling and moving experience is a plus.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience driving a box or delivery truck
  • Valid driver's license and clean DMV record.
  • Class C endorsement a plus, but not required.
