Job Overview

The ReStore division of Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County plays a crucial role in generating funds through the sale of donated building materials and household goods. POSITION SUMMARY:

The ReStore Associate is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in ensuring the efficient operation of the ReStore on a daily basis. This role is vital in delivering exceptional service to our donors, customers, and volunteers, embodying the core values of Habitat for Humanity. Candidates must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service consistently.
  • Efficiently operate the Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Assist customers in finding products throughout the store.
  • Provide timely and professional service to donors.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of donation counts.
  • Assess the condition and pricing of incoming merchandise to ensure compliance with ReStore standards.
  • Promptly place cleaned and priced items on the sales floor to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the ReStore.
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse Team Lead to manage dock operations daily.
  • Promote the mission and values of Habitat for Humanity.
  • Work closely with the ReStore Manager on improvement projects.
  • Gain knowledge about Habitat for Humanity and effectively communicate our mission to volunteers and customers.
  • Potentially operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Educate customers on how the ReStore supports Habitat's mission.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience with POS systems and cash handling is advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the organization's mission and values.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to share ideas and contribute to a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position primarily operates in a retail and warehouse environment, requiring the use of equipment such as forklifts and hand tools. Employees may also work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • No formal degree is required, but experience in customer service or retail is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for the organization's mission are essential.
  • Self-motivated individuals who can work independently and as part of a team are encouraged to apply.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are critical.
  • Regular attendance is expected, with availability to work Tuesday through Saturday.
