We are seeking a Business Development Director to lead the growth of our core Engineered Solutions (ES) business. Integral to this business is AMS Group’s relationship with our long-standing client, Honeywell.
As the BD Director within Engineered Solutions, you will be a key member of the business leadership team, accountable for all customer facing strategies and processes to drive year over year profitable growth. You will utilize your exceptional communication skills to inspire strong engagement from the broader sales teams and network.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Relationship Management:
- Maintain excellent key Customer relationships with our government agencies such as DLA; military end users and also our industry prime contractors (Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman etc..).
- Nurture, manage and grow our client relationships as a key component of our overall growth strategy.
- Represent the voice of our clients/customers in all internal meetings and communications.
- Lead the adoption of our CRM tool for the Engineered Solutions business
Sales Pipelines & Process:
- Ensure that Engineered Solutions are maintaining healthy, sustainable sales pipelines for both the near and long term. Balance the focus on achieving new revenue stream development with near term sales closures, to meet operating plan commitments.
- Own and continually improve the business development and sales processes to be efficient and effective in supporting the organization that values speed and agility as a competitive advantage.
- Partner with the VP & GM Engineered Solutions to develop and execute both the long-term strategic growth plans, as well as the annual operating plan.
Honeywell Relationship Management:
- At the heart of the Engineered Solutions business is a Licensing agreement from Honeywell that includes thousands of products, parts and systems.
- Manage this complex relationship to address day to day issues as well as long-term growth of the License and business relationship.
- Increase AMS Group awareness and presence in Honeywell through regular visits and interactions on-site in Phoenix and other Honeywell locations.
BD & Sales Organization:
- Continue to build a highly effective customer facing team. Ensure all team functions, (account managers, key relationship managers, inside sales, distributors etc..) are aligned with business goals to maximize ES business performance.
- Ensure training and development plans are in place to support the continued improvement of the BD, sales and marketing teams.
Marketing:
- Ensure that detailed marketing plans are in place to support ES growth strategies.
- Ensure ES priority trade shows are supported through the AMS Group marketing calendar.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Leadership: Inspirational team leadership combining high energy and teamwork focus. Ability to build meaningful professional relationships with our long-standing clients.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey ideas effectively across a national business unit and global customers.
Organization: Experience in leading an integrated sales team that can produce excellent results through a customer-first approach.
CRM Tools & Processes: Proven ability to utilize a CRM tool effectively to drive productivity and improve customer experience.
Requirements:WORK EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Five or more years in Aerospace & Defense sales roles,
- Proven track record of managing significant, complex client relationships
- Ability to craft and execute a business strategy effectively
- Team player who can demonstrate the ability to build relationships across business locations
- Military or Honeywell experience a bonus
- Willingness to undertake frequent travel in the execution of this role
