Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Development Accountant to join our team. The Development Accountant will play a crucial role in managing financial aspects related to the development and construction of data center projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a growing team as it rockets towards the future.

At Stream Data Centers the Finance team is responsible for all the accounting, financial statements and reporting, budget preparation and forecasting and internal controls for Stream Data Centers and its wholly owned subsidiaries.  The team is responsible for working closely with the investments team to manage capital expenditures and ensuring proper handling of all capital.  We strive to be nimble to support growth but also challenge how things are being done to ensure the highest level of compliance and financial integrity. We support the business cradle to grave from capital raising, sales and leasing, site selection and development, design and construction, to operations. We are always looking for ways to be more scalable and automated so that we can continue to grow at incredibly fast rates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the finance team, construction teams, and external stakeholders to ensure financial objectives are met and reported accurately.
  • Support both external and internal audit processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Review monthly draw packages and ensure that all the correct information is in the lender certificates and draw documents that is required for JV’s and loans.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable for multiple data center developments and ensure correct job cost coding and job cost structure.
  • Work with treasury management on new accounts, bank reconciliation, wires and deposit details.
  • Ensure that all journal entries and monthly ledgers are accurate for monthly and quarterly financial reporting and prepare lender compliance certificates as needed/required by property.
Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES):

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance with a strong understanding of the General Ledger and financial reporting, preferably in real estate development, construction, or a related industry is required
  • Experience with project accounting, capital expenditure management and lender draw process is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and practices, including GAAP
  • Experience in financial modeling and analysis, with advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with NetSuite, Yardi, Rabbit or other analytics tools
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with high levels of ambiguity
  • High regard for accuracy and completeness

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline is required
