Located on State Route 730 in Wilmington, OH, The World Equestrian Center is currently seeking a Safety and Security Manager to join our team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe physical environment by planning and practicing safety strategies, emergency procedures and property surveillance.
  • Assist in leading response to emergency situations including, but not limited to, safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies, and threats to life and/or property.
  • Assist in the coordination of all safety training to include, but not limited to, CPR, fire and life safety systems, workplace violence prevention, driver safety training, etc.
  • Serve as liaison with federal, state, and local law enforcement.
  • Write and assist in the administration and accuracy of all required reports and documentation.
  • Assist in developing security strategies and implementing security protocols and procedures.
  • Hold quarterly fire drills and other pertinent emergency staging.
  • Monitor and control entrances, parking, and elevators.
  • Direct and administer the patrol of the interior and the perimeter of the property, all buildings, and assets.
  • Walks property consistently and identify and mitigate any risk with the HR representative; this is a weekly event and documentation will follow.
  • Train on recurring programs such as Human Trafficking, Active Shooter and finding a weapon in a guest room among other critical safety training topics.
  • Ensure compliance with our annual training criteria and assist with managing employee documentation.
  • Assist in directing and leading investigations of accidents, thefts, property loss and unlawful activities.
  • Partner with the Human Resources Department to facilitate all Safety training and present Safety topics in all Orientation and training of new hires on company safety policies and procedures.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
  • Assist in monitoring and developing team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations, providing professional development, and delivering recognition and reward.
  • Retain, recruit, interview, and train team members.
  • Monitor and manage key control processes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Team Member must be able to sit in the same position for up to 8 hours a day consecutively.
  • Team Member may have to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Team Member is often required to sit and use his or her hands and fingers, to handle or feel.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Team Member must talk and hear.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have 2+ years of experience in Loss Prevention/Security Management role.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent.
  • Experience in Loss Prevention in an upscale establishment preferred.
  • Previous experience in hospitality preferred.
  • Proven professionalism with guests and associates required.
  • Experience with and familiarity with OSHA standards required.
  • Previous experience with training and maintenance of safety standards.
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
  • Must have knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
