JOB TITLE: Intern

EMPLOYER: Signature Estate and Investment Advisors Inc

DEPARTMENT: Research

REPORTS TO: RFP Department Manager

EFFECTIVE DATE: 8/8/2024


INTERNSHIP PERIOD: 3-12 months


SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assisting the company with tasks set out by various teams, such as researching, data capturing and working closely with different team members to learn more about the company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with portfolio associates and analysts to support day-to-day operations of research and sales support.
  • Assists with new client proposals and investment analysis.
  • Compares and analyzes information from industry publications and proprietary sources, such as Morningstar Direct and Bloomberg Terminal.
  • Writes reports and communicates research findings to analysts, associates, and/or traders.
  • Updates and maintains financial models and valuation models using Microsoft Excel.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite: Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Word Processing Software (Word); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook); Presentation software (PowerPoint); and Publisher software.
  • Other skills required:
    1. Business Related, Finance, or Economics degree preferred, but all majors welcomed.
    2. Must be detail oriented, with the ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy in work product.
    3. Interest in investing and the investment process.
