Prosper Benefits Assistance is recruiting Direct Outreach Specialists to help us meet the growing consumer demands of individuals who may have recently loss Medicaid/CHIP coverage or those experiencing qualifying life events. Temporary Direct Outreach Specialist will conduct phone outreach using Marketplace Assister Community (MAC) programming and schedule appointments for consumers to enroll in affordable health insurance through the federal Marketplace during and/or to apply for CHIP or Medicaid. Over 41,000 consumers who may have recently lost Medicaid or CHIP coverage are currently on our outreach list. Direct Outreach Specialists will help contact these consumers during the Medicaid Unwinding Special Enrollment Period and Open Enrollment, ending January 15, 2025.

The team of Direct Outreach Specialists will work together to contact community members, determine their household’s health coverage status and, if needed, schedule an appointment for enrollment. Paid training is provided. Knowledge of health insurance experience is a plus but is not required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide client outreach by phone, email and mail
  • Record results of outreach efforts in MAC and internal tracking tools
  • Help clients quickly and accurately determine whether and what type of health coverage and assistance they may qualify for
  • Schedule appointments, as needed, for Marketplace health insurance enrollment or CHIP/Medicaid application
  • Follow privacy procedures to protect clients’ personally identifiable information
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to provide empathetic and trauma-informed services
  • Ability to be flexible, learn quickly, and multi-task
  • Accurate, efficient, and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency using standard office computer programs and databases
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday from 8:30AM to 5:00PM & (some) Saturdays from 8:30AM to 5:00PM

Full-time and part-time positions available with daytime, evening, and weekend schedule options.

Locations: This is an in-person position at our Prosper Center – South, located at 2900 S I-35 Frontage Rd, Austin, TX 78704 or Prosper Center-North, located at 5900 Airport Blvd, Austin, TX 78752

The timeline for this position is August 2024 to January 2025.
