A day in the life of a Bank Branch Manager
  • Manage all aspects of the Bank’s retail branch location, including but not limited to the processing of a variety of financial transactions (check cashing, withdrawals, deposits, loan payments, wire transfers), account opening and servicing, ordering checks and Debit Cards, and assisting commercial loan customers.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to branch activities, transaction processing, account opening, account closure, etc.
  • Assist customers with use of the Bank’s deposit account opening and online banking applications utilizing several technology platforms.
  • Prepare and maintain account paperwork, including but not limited to signature cards, funds transfer and service charges.
  • Review retail related reports to perform quality control and/or identify activity related trends for reporting to senior management.
  • Oversight of branch valuables including negotiable instruments, check/card stock, vault and daily cash management, including overall currency totals, cash shipments and deliveries.
  • Lead Branch Staff, while building a cohesive, engaged team; coordinating schedules for adequate staff coverage; empowering team members to provide excellent customer service.
  • Monitor supply levels, process supply orders as needed, and manage supply organization within branch locations.
  • Maintain current knowledge and consistent compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements, all banking regulations, and all Bank policies and procedures related to the position.
  • Provide efficient and courteous customer service, researching problems and implementing appropriate resolution.
  • Provides recommendations regarding improved operating systems, processes and procedures.
  • Improve team performance, recognize and reward stellar performance, coach employees, support their development and manage poor performance.
  • Review and approve time entry and PTO requests for branch staff.
  • Timely completion of all assigned training.
  • Provide interdepartmental support, as needed.
Requirements for the Bank Branch Manager position
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent personal and professional leadership skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of consumer banking related regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform various retail banking procedures and operations
  • Ability to remain professional and composed under pressure
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, or similar software programs
  • Minimum twelve (12) months supervisory experience
  • Familiarity with FIS Horizon XE, Apiture FXIM, and/or Fiserv STAR software systems preferred
