Position summary: The Appraisal Administrator is responsible for ordering appraisals relating to loans for all lines of business; ensuring that performance of all duties meet regulatory, industry standards, Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices and Bank policies; reviews for completeness, conformance to loan approval and process engagement letters.


Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years’ experience in the field of real estate appraisals for commercial lending preferred
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, etc.)
  • High degree of attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • Experience in working in a financial institution preferred


Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Provide support to Relationship Managers for the central process of ordering appraisal. Review all requests for completeness of information.
  • Perform the initial process of submission of ordering the appraisal following the Bank’s policy by either using a 3rd party vendor or an appraiser from the Bank’s approved list and submit all bid requests.
  • Track and monitor appraisal request for timely responses, provide information to the Relationship Manager or appropriate Appraisal Review authority for approval. Prepare the necessary engagement letters and follow up for outstanding information.
  • Process all outstanding invoices through accounts payable for timely payment.
  • Scan and retain appraisal information to the Bank’s imaging platform in a consistent naming convention under the borrower record.
  • Willingness to engage in enhanced educational for areas of responsibilities.

  • Coordinates specific work tasks with other employees within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information

  • Communicates with management and coworkers in order to integrate goals and activities
  • Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank’s compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Relationship management skills and ability to interface confidently with associates of all levels, including senior executives, business unit and department heads.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to communicate with customers, outside vendors and insurance agencies.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel and power point expertise is a must).
  • Strong organization skills in record keeping and time and attention to detail.
  • Ability to define problems and present a solution or escalate for resolution.
