The Location:

Hale Makua Health Services is a Maui based non-profit that improves the well-being of those in its care through compassionate personalized health services. We are devoted to helping Maui's Elders live their best lives. Hale Makua's Kahului location is a 254-bed nursing facility.


The Position:

We're looking for a passionate Purchasing Assistant to assist the Purchasing manager with planning, organizing, developing and managing the Purchasing Department. The purchasing assistant will be responsible for the receiving function, storeroom management, tracking of fixed assets and for the accuracy of data and operation of the computer system.

  • Manages and represents the Purchasing Department in the absence of the Purchasing Manager. Responsible for developing and maintaining computerized inventory system, receipt and storage of materials ordered and delivered.
  • Performs administrative tasks such as preparing and presenting reports, completing forms, correspondence, maintaining records and files and attending meetings.
  • Coordinates, accounts for, and tracts all material issues. Serves as back up for other purchasing positions as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in business or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years relevant experience as purchasing assistant to include experience with computer spreadsheets and computer databases.
  • Current and valid 2 Step TB clearance and health review (can be done in-house).
