The Opportunity:

The purpose of this position is to groom our future Chief Growth Officer. As the Business Development Leader, you will be at the helm of our BD function, driving its growth with a strong emphasis on solution architecture within the cyber and IT sectors. The successful candidate will have a proven background in solution architecture, exceptional writing abilities, and a talent for building and nurturing customer relationships. Moreover, expertise in managing proposal operations to secure new business opportunities is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company growth targets.
  • Lead and oversee the complete business development process to include opportunity identification, qualification, pursuit and capture, proposal operations, and contract closure.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships by understanding their needs and positioning our offerings effectively.
  • After identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, serve as Capture Manager for identified strategic pursuits.
  • Create technical solutions and approaches that are responsive to customer needs; leverage existing capabilities and insights; team with the right partners; and propose innovative and compelling solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Develop strategies with growth team members; coordinate corporate resources; assess competition; build teams of subcontractors; present decision gate briefings to executive management; and manage bid and proposal funding from the decision to bid through the post-submission phase.
  • Utilize a strong solution architect background to design and propose innovative cyber and IT solutions that meet client needs.
  • Work closely with our Technology Group to execute a dual channel partner and direct customer engagement strategy for our solutions; contribute to the marketing qualified through sales qualified leads funnel.
  • Actively lead a best-in-class, winning proposal process, working closely with other corporate functions, to drive compelling and compliant proposals.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes to identify new business opportunities and threats.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Experience:

    • Proven track record leading teams, winning work, and driving top line growth. This does not include being a part of a team that won...you must have been the leader driving BD, capture, and proposal efforts.
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in cybersecurity and IT business across DoD, DHS, and FedCiv Communities.
    • Customer intimacy with DoD and DHS preferred.

  • Experience managing proposal operations and familiarity with proposal management software/tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a passion for mentoring and developing future team members.
