Job Title: Accounts Payable/Junior Accountant

Overview: As an Accounts Payable/Junior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the financial transactions of the company, including paying bills on a weekly basis, reconciling bank accounts daily, creating journal entries, and reconciling general ledger accounts. Your role is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial records and maintaining the company's financial health.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Accounts Payable Management:
    • Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payment on a weekly basis.
    • Verify accuracy of invoices and payment requests.
    • Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and resolve any discrepancies.
    • Maintain organized paperless records of accounts payable transactions.
  2. Bank Reconciliation:
    • Daily reconciliation of bank accounts to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
    • Investigate and resolve variances between bank records and company accounts.
    • Record and reconcile bank charges, interest, and other transactions.
  3. General Ledger Reconciliation:
    • Reconcile various general ledger accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Investigate and resolve variances between general ledger balances and subsidiary records.
    • Prepare and post adjusting journal entries as needed to correct discrepancies.
  4. Financial Reporting Support:
    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports as required.
    • Provide support to senior accountant and controller in analyzing financial data.
    • Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  5. Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting principles.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of financial transactions.
    • Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and support.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in accounting or finance role preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software MS Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
