Position Purpose: The Jr. Graphic Designer & Marketing Assistant will play a vital role in enhancing Families Together of Orange County's online and offline presence. This role involves creating engaging visual content, managing social media, and supporting marketing communications campaigns. The ideal candidate will have strong graphic design skills, proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, and experience in marketing or communications.

 

Core Duties and responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

Graphic Design:

  • Develop creative concepts and design a variety of marketing materials, including brochures, ads, social media graphics, flyers, and posters.
  • Ensure all designs align with the organization’s brand guidelines and messaging.
  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and create visual content for campaigns.
  • Assist with the development of the FTOC magazine, including layout design and content creation.
  • Stay updated on design trends and incorporate them into FTOC's visual content.
  • Provide support for in-house printing and production as needed. 

Marketing:

  • Produce, shoot, and edit graphics, photo and video content for social media and web platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, YouTube, and the FTOC website).
  • Manage social media channels, including content scheduling, posting, and community management.
  • Develop and implement content calendars for all FTOC platforms.
  • Monitor engagement and analytics to make data-driven recommendations.
  • Copyedit and review content for consistency in messaging, style, and voice.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop cross-platform campaigns.
  • Assist in planning and executing email marketing campaigns, including crafting content and designing templates.
  • Assist with website maintenance and updates with SEO-friendly content.
  • Assist with clinic marketing displays and campaigns.
  • Assist with media relations efforts, including media and industry research, writing press releases and drafting press materials.
  • Assist with internal and external communication as needed.

 Administrative and Other Duties:

  • Provide administrative support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education and Training:

  • BA in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in graphic design and content creation within an agency, healthcare, or nonprofit environment.
  • Preferred: Certification in digital marketing or content management

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • A portfolio of previous content creation, with a focus in non-profit or healthcare
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.).
  • Experience with digital marketing tools (Canva, WordPress, email marketing software).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks in a collaborative environment.
  • Foundational knowledge of SEO best practices and digital marketing trends.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS is a plus.
  • Passion for the community and the healthcare industry.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or Vietnamese is preferred.
