Structural Analysis Engineer II

The Structural Analysis Engineer II will play a pivotal role in supporting both the design and construction of vehicles as well as their operational testing. This position requires hands-on evaluation and analytical validation of aerospace vehicles within a dynamic, interdisciplinary setting.
Individuals in this position will engage in both the assembly and operational phases of various programs. Structural Analysis Engineers will collaborate closely with a diverse range of disciplines, including but not limited to: Structural Design, Maintenance and Operations teams, Manufacturing, Propulsion, and Flight Testing, to ensure design validation, testing assistance, and operational support. Senior Engineers in this role are expected to work autonomously as well as part of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts structural evaluations to provide analytical definitions and ensure the integrity of components, assemblies, and systems.
- Reviews, revises, and develops engineering analytical definitions for components and assemblies.
- Creates and utilizes finite element models for both global and discrete analysis.
- Contributes significantly to the workflow release process for structural designs.
- Assists in reviewing manufacturing plans and procedures to guarantee adherence to design and load specifications.
- Helps formulate structural component and system testing plans to validate manufacturing and testing processes.
- Establishes standardized analysis criteria and templates.
- May provide mentorship to junior team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant Engineering discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in structural analysis within the aerospace sector.
- Strong understanding of material properties, statics, free body diagrams, and structural load paths.
- Excellent teamwork and coordination abilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Finite Element Modeling is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with FEMAP is a significant advantage.
- Knowledge of Fatigue and Damage Tolerance analysis is a strong plus.
- Prior involvement in liaison or Material Review Board activities in aerospace stress applications is beneficial.
- Experience with manufacturing-based ERP systems, such as Oracle, is advantageous.
Experience in designing flight vehicles or vehicle systems to meet specific requirements or standards is highly sought after.
