What you’ll do

The Senior Mobile QA Engineer reports to the QA Manager and works closely with cross-functional teams including other software engineers, architects, quality assurance, and product managers to ensure seamless, high-quality product and platform delivery.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring product quality as well as owning quality-related processes (and related internal and external communications), by expertly applying various testing disciplines, technology, test automation, and hands-on experience in the mobile space.

Your Impact

  • Review and oversee Mobile testing executed by both on and offshore teams

  • Enhance the quality of the product by identifying and helping to fix bugs before the product reaches customers

  • Continuously improve processes and procedures that enhance efficiency and effectiveness in testing

  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure high-quality outputs

  • Mitigate risks associated with software development by ensuring that all potential issues are identified and addressed early in the development cycle

  • Develop automated test scripts and frameworks for improved mobile app performance for both Android and iOS devices

  • Advocate for and implement industry best practices in quality assurance, leading to improved product standards and team processes

  • Lead and mentor team members who are earlier in their careers and contribute to the growth and development of the QA team

What you bring to the table

  • 7+ years experience in Quality Assurance

  • Demonstrated experience with mobile native application testing

  • Experience providing QA for mobile, web, and back-end services

  • Experience conducting usability tests

  • Ability to empathize with users’ unique perspectives

  • Strong experience creating automation scripts from scratch

  • Experience using tools (like Jira, Confluence, and TestRail) to write and execute test cases, log defects, and work with the team on story refinement

  • Strong understanding of Agile software development life cycle (SDLC), quality assurance process, tools, and methodologies

  • Practiced eye for pixel misalignments, margin errors, and other visual details

  • Capable of writing and executing manual tests for mobile apps

  • Display a professional, positive, and approachable attitude, as well as discretion

  • Self-starter mentality, excited to assume responsibility for their work, accept direction and feedback from co-workers and managers, and help make anyone’s great idea a reality

  • Experience working in Agile and Kanban environments

  • Experience working with external clients, partners, and vendors

  • Collaborative spirit and a positive demeanor that enhance team dynamics

  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for company and team events, both domestically and internationally (valid passport necessary)

Bonus points

  • Experience in travel and/or loyalty-as-a-service industries

  • Experience in Mobile Accessibility (508) testing on both iOS and Android devices

  • Expertise in mobile test automation frameworks, preferably using toolsets like XCTest and XCUITest for iOS, and Espresso and UI Automator for Android

Location

This role is remote and can be located anywhere inside the continental United States. iSeatz is a New Orleans-based company with Central Time Zone business hours, but feel free to work from your home office, from the beach, or from the cottage you rented for the summer
