Job Description:

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Manager of Financial Reporting and Data Warehouse will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial and operational information. This key position will be responsible for planning, creation, maintenance and overseeing the financial and operational reporting, data structure and process and managing the data warehouse infrastructure, contributing significantly to the strategic decision-making process. This is a hands-on position that requires knowledge and know how to plan, create, and manage a data warehouse and reporting from such warehouse. This position will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, data integrity and support of a newly created data warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial and Operational Reporting:
    • Lead the planning and set up of entity and data structure to support critical financial reporting and connections to key operating metrics to deliver business insights to drive business performance.
    • Establish data integrity and other processes necessary to ensure accurate and timely reporting of both financial and operational data.
    • Supported by the finance team, collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and interpret financial data for reporting purposes.
    • Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports to senior management and external stakeholders.

  1. Data Warehouse Management:
    • Oversee the design of data warehouse data structures, development, and maintenance of the data warehouse infrastructure to support financial and operational reporting and analysis.
    • Perform data analysis of current systems.
    • Collaborate with IT, finance, and other departments, as necessary to optimize data integration, data quality/integrity, and data governance.
    • Implement best practices for data storage, retrieval, and security within the organization.
  • Establish processes to ensure on-going data quality and maintenance/update.
  • Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) functionality to get the data from the existing data stores and map and load it into a usable form for reporting/analysis.
  • Design and maintain timely updates and maintenance on the data.
  1. Process Improvement:
    • Continuously assess and improve financial and operational reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline data collection and reporting, implementing automation where possible.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance reporting capabilities.
  2. Compliance and Regulation:
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements ensuring data privacy goals are considered and met.
    • Regulate access to data as necessary to comply with all requirements.
  3. Team Leadership:
    • This position is a hands-on position and leads through influence of the entire organization working closely with finance, IT, and other teams to meet goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Intelligence or Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field; Finance or Accounting experience a plus.
  • Expertise in a particular reporting tool and knowledge designing and maintaining reports in a reporting platform, preferably, Microsoft Power BI or similar platform.

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in data warehouse, financial and operational reporting and analysis, preferably in the healthcare or life sciences industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial and operational reporting requirements.
  • Proven experience in set up and management of data warehouse
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
