Inomedic Health Applications (IHA) is seeking a PRN Physician who will serve as a Risk Communicator. The individual will serve as the IHA interface for the provision of Occupational Medical Services (OccMed) to internal and external customers at the Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Environmental Restoration Site Richland, Washington. The purpose is to effectively communicate IHA’s mission, goals, objectives, and implementation strategies for OccMed support to onsite workforces, the local community, and diverse DOE stakeholders. This is an in-person position.

Requirements:
  • Working with employers and other stakeholders to identify and mitigate health and safety hazards at the worksite.
  • Represent IHA to the workforce, contractors, federal and state officials, media, community, and others as directed by the Site Occupational Medical Director (SOMD).
  • Collaborate with the SOMD, Epidemiologist, Industrial Hygienist, and other allied health professionals in collecting, analyzing, and communicating occupational health and safety information to authorized stakeholders.
  • Participate in the review, analysis, and trending of OMS derived data on the health and safety of onsite workers.
  • Develop reports and evaluations required by the SOMD.

Qualifications:

  • Recent three years’ experience in risk communications, preferably in the public or private sector.
  • Experience in promoting understanding by interfacing and facilitating discussion with diverse groups of workers in industrial settings and the public of complex, potentially charged issues is highly desirable.
  • Eligible for a DOE Access Authorization appointment.

Education / Training:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Residency in Occupational & Environmental Medicine strongly preferred. Other relevant specialty training may be considered (e.g. Primary Care, Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Physical Medicine)

Knowledge / Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent communicator, verbally and in writing.
  • Able to interpret routine medical records.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations:

  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Washington.

Working Conditions:

  • General medical and office environment that
  • May require minor lifting and bending.
  • Complies with onsite safety policies and procedures.
