The Food Service Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dining facility, ensuring that all food service activities are conducted in accordance with established guidelines and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the efficient serving of food products to customers, ensuring optimal convenience and satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in dining and serving areas to provide a pleasant atmosphere for patrons.
- Oversee the restocking of supplies and communicate with production staff regarding inventory needs to maintain a consistent service schedule.
- Supervise cash handling processes at registers, ensuring accuracy and security in financial transactions.
- Assist in planning and executing special events, such as banquets and conferences, in collaboration with management.
- Support the manager in scheduling personnel for effective service and production.
- Maintain accurate records related to cash flow and other operational metrics.
- Ensure compliance with opening and closing procedures and uphold unit security.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should possess a minimum of two years of supervisory experience in food service, with at least one year in a relevant operational setting such as a hotel, restaurant, or catering service. A diploma or certification in culinary arts may substitute for some experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Understanding of large-scale food service operations.
- Proficient in cash register operations and cash handling procedures.
- Familiarity with personnel management and record-keeping.
- Physical capability to perform tasks associated with large-scale food service.
- Knowledge of recipe comprehension and menu planning.
- Awareness of equipment sanitation and maintenance practices.
Physical Demands
This role may require physical activities such as balancing, lifting, and standing for extended periods. The position is designated as essential personnel, requiring certification as a food handler within six months of employment.
Work Schedule
The supervisor will work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, totaling 40 hours per week.
