Job Description:


Reporting to and working in partnership with the Assistant Director of Field PR, the Field Thought Leadership Strategist will, first and foremost, be an exquisite writer who will help give voice to field leaders, including advisors, through compelling bylined articles, long- and short-form web and social-media pieces. To develop those materials, the strategist should also be capable of quickly gaining a deep understanding of our client, key aspects of our business, and the unique value proposition of our network offices and firms. Moreover, they should possess a keen sense of the current news cycle, macro trends, and timely third-party research to help drive relevance and graceful storytelling.

Along with being a truly top-notch and versatile writer, this role will also be responsible for creating a comprehensive editorial plan and schedule one that will guide the development and rollout of all content to support our fields thought leadership programs. To do so, the strategist must cultivate relationships with leaders, key business partners, and other communicators to mine content ideas; capitalize on local milestones, events and announcements; and ensure messages are consistent and complementary across channels and leaders.

Qualified candidates will also:

  • Be a natural storyteller, capable of crafting communications that are clear, crisp, accessible, and able to stir emotion.
  • Possess strong editing abilities, with attention to detail. Have a knack for understanding positioning and the nuances of messaging.
  • Understand the financial services industry, related terms, and our clients' unique role in the space.
  • Demonstrate executive presence, with a strong EQ and the capability to establish rapport with the fields senior-most leaders and most prominent advisors.
  • Work with their colleagues to track and analyze the effectiveness of thought leadership content, ensuring the communications steadily grow in reach, engagement and overall impact.
  • Bring a team mentality, solid work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have strong instincts and demonstrated expertise when it comes to merchandising communications results internally.
  • Understand research and data-driven insights, leveraging them as a tool to support thought leadership efforts.
  • Ensure all materials are accurate and compliant with our client's guidelines.
  • Enjoy working across all levels of the organization.
  • Possess a bachelors degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field.
  • Have a minimum of 10 years of strong writing experience (client can be flex on years experience, but this a Senior level role)
