OVERVIEW

The Matching Grant Program assists refugees in finding employment and becoming self-sufficient. The Matching Grant Program Officer will report to the Associate Director for Community Integration and will work as part of the Matching Grant program team. The Program Officer will support the management of a major federal grant by assisting with reporting and project analysis associated with the Matching Grant program and providing training and technical assistance to 44 local offices participating in the Matching Grant program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide national oversight of program activities;
  • Provide training and technical assistance on the subject matter to a national network of providers;
  • Ensure outcomes and compliance with federal guidelines through monitoring and evaluation activities;
  • Collect data, write reports, provide support in proposal continuation applications;
  • Provide strong support and guidance on subject matter to network; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • A Master’s degree from an accredited institution with at least two years of progressive experience in the resettlement, humanitarian, or other relevant fields, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of progressive, relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience providing case management and employment services domestically or relief services overseas is highly desirable;
  • Strong writing and computer skills are essential along with a background in grant management and training;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong writing and demonstrated intercultural communication capability;
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills; ability to work as a team member and independently, with a high level of self-motivation and ability to meet goals and deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
  • Detailed oriented and experience working with tracing and verifying data preferred;
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Access, MS Excel and database programs; Highly adaptable and flexible with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a demanding work environment;
  • Positive attitude and willingness to be part of a team and also work independently is highly desirable;
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with network agencies and other partners;
  • Must have the flexibility to travel domestically; and
  • Dedication to the rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and displaced persons.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Satisfactory completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training; and
  • Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources.
