POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated HR Intern to join our team. This internship offers the opportunity to gain practical experience in various aspects of HR. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, detail-oriented, and ready to contribute to meaningful projects. The HR Intern will work on projects that align with the company's HR strategy by having hands on experience through projects that will be assigned in HR functional areas such as: Total Rewards and Performance Management; Talent and Organizational Capability, and Talent Acquisition. Assignments are based on business needs coupled with the candidate's education, experience, and career interests.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist HR team with new hire orientations.
  • Assist employees with benefit questions.
  • Schedule Insurance meetings.
  • Schedule 401K meetings to ensure compliance.
  • Assist HR Coordinator with updating and maintaining employee benefit records.
  • Work on assigned projects such as performance evaluations, talent management.
  • Scans and maintains electronic documentation for all benefit programs.
  • Maintains all internal communication bulletin boards; including but not limited to company notices (Internal job postings, all meetings being arranged by HR) and Federal and State employment posters.
  • Assist HR Coordinator in updating monthly employee lists up-to-date and distribute lists.
  • Assists HR Director with staffing needs by posting open positions, Data Mining, prescreening applications, processing P.I data, conducting criminal background checks and work history verifications.
  • Print new badges when needed.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.



Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidates must demonstrate an interest and ability to enter the HR field
  • Be pursuing either an undergraduate or advanced degree in HR, Business Relations, or a related area with specific coursework in HR with an accredited university.
  • Above-average academic performance be demonstrated by a minimum of a 3.2 GPA for undergraduate and a 3.5 GPA for graduate degrees.
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
  • Ability to clearly articulate strong career interest in the field of Human Resources


Desired Skills:

  • Experience or interest in learning about leading a group discussion and capturing feedback
  • Leadership potential and competencies as evidenced by good citizenship, achievement and involvement in non-academic pursuits such as extracurricular activities, community service, or special projects
  • Good organization skills and able to handle multiple priorities
