Job Description (Sr. Project Manager I):

Required Experience

  • 17 years of full-time paid professional project/construction management experience (12 years for Senior Project Manager I)
  • 5 years of experience in managing large programs with projects having construction values in excess of $50 million (not cumulative)
  • 5 years' experience in educational facility construction, public works, or large commercial projects (may include projects outside of California)

Additional Preferred Experience

  • Design Build Experience
  • Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM)
  • Experience in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects and/or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS)
  • Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes

Required Education

One of the following:
  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management
  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree and completion of the Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential within one year of employment in the Facilities Services Division of the Los Angeles Unified School District
  • College undergraduate degree with more than 20 years of Construction or Project Management experience and completion of the Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential within one year of employment in the Facilities Services Division

  • Possession of a valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential at the time of resume submission

Preferred Licenses and Certificates

  • A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the California State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
