The ASQ Community Liaison is a local professional in Norwalk working under the Norwalk Early Childhood Development Initiative in partnership with Norwalk ACTS. The goal of the Initiative is to improve coordination of services across early childhood professionals and agencies and empower families by implementing a community-wide system for screening, tracking, and promoting young children’s development, using a common tool, the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ-3). The Community Liaison will actively engage with Norwalk’s early childhood providers and parents to promote the importance of developmental screening and the use of the ASQ.

  • Attend and participate in Early Childhood Development Initiative meetings, including but not limited to Steering Committee, Visibility work group, Data Quality work group
  • Increase the understanding of the importance of early childhood screening and promotion of the ASQ to community partners, including early childhood education providers and families.
  • Provide direct service and support around ASQ administration to the following early childhood providers:

-School Readiness Programs

-Funded and Non-funded Early Childhood Programs

-Head Start

-Private home daycare programs (All our Kin)

  • Oversee systematic follow-up and implementation of tiered interventions with providers and families to ensure that children are connected to appropriate resources to support their developmental needs
  • Provide oversight on data tracking, including interpretation of the data to report on outcomes and identify gaps
  • Arrange trainings for providers around the administration of the ASQ, including training on the different platforms and utilization of screening data
  • Co-supervise Early Childhood Community Advocates working directly with Early Childhood Education providers
  • Oversee participation in community engagement events, including the management of outreach supplies, organization of Community Advocate schedules to ensure participation at events
  • Identify and engage new partners in the community around the benefits of utilizing the ASQ in their work with children and families

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Bi-Lingual (preferred not required)
  • Experience in building community level systems
  • Strong public speaking skills
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
