Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Dr. Arenia C. Mallory Community Health Center, Inc. (Mallory CHC) is currently accepting applications for a CMA (CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT) at our Canton Clinic. We are actively recruiting for a CMA to provide quality health care to patients in a professional and considerate manner. You will work under the supervision of a LPN, RN, Nurse Practitioner AND/OR Physician. CMA professionals must be first and foremost qualified and compassionate. The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing diverse basic care to those who need it while remaining patient and calm. It is a demanding job but also very rewarding
QUALIFICATIONS:- Proven experience as a CMA or similar role
- Minimum Three Years of Experiences in Field and/or a Health-Related Agency or Facility.
- Must also have completed certificate program from accredited medical assistant school.
- Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
- Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times
- A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Responsible, compassionate, and able to handle stress
- Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Patient with excellent problem-solving skills
- Provider Life Support (BLS) Certification is Required
- Valid Board Certification AND License in Related Professional Field Position
- Background Check Is Required
- TB Skin AND Drug Test Is Required
- Must Be Able AND Willing to Travel, if needed to Canton, Durant, Greenwood, Lexington and/ or Tchula
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform triage exam routinely throughout daily shift
- Track and follow up on lab and imaging results
- Track and follow up on completion of referral visits, tests & procedures
- Receive/ review reports or other communications from facilities notifying practice of
- Service provided to patients
- Obtain notes from facilities- outpatient or rehab, emergency department, urgent care centers
- Initiate forms presented by patients (school sport physicals, etc.)
- Initiate vendor lab requisitions
- Process medication renewal requests including starting note with necessary documentation (last labs, visits, etc.)
- Assemble all available documents for PCP to review
- Room patient in exam room
- Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, temperature, heart rate administering injections etc.) and fill in patients' charts
- Collect samples for lab testing as assigned
- Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.)
- Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
- Expand knowledge and capabilities by attending educational workshops, conferences etc.
