THE ROLE

Access Global Group is seeking an experienced and highly motivated AV Event Engineer to join our team. The AV Event Engineer will be responsible for planning, setting up, operating, and maintaining audiovisual equipment for a variety of events, including corporate meetings, conferences, product launches, and other special streaming events. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in AV systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to provide outstanding customer service.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Event Planning and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with event organizers and clients to understand their audiovisual requirements.
  • Design and plan AV setups tailored to the specific needs of each event.
  • Conduct site visits to assess venue specifications and identify potential technical challenges.

AV Equipment Setup and Operation:

  • Set up, test, and operate AV equipment, including projectors, microphones, speakers, video conferencing systems, lighting, and other related technologies.
  • Ensure all AV components are functioning properly before and during events.
  • Manage live sound mixing, video switching, and presentation displays during events.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Provide on-site technical support to address any AV issues that arise during events.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems quickly to minimize disruptions.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of AV equipment.

Post-Event Responsibilities:

  • Dismantle and safely store AV equipment after events.
  • Review event performance and gather feedback to improve future AV setups and operations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of AV equipment and recommend necessary upgrades or replacements.

Customer Service:

  • Communicate effectively with clients, event organizers, and team members to ensure smooth AV operations.
  • Provide training and guidance to clients on the proper use of AV equipment.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to enhance client satisfaction.

QUALIFICTIONS/REQUIREMENTS

THE EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in AV engineering or event production with a focus on live streaming events.
  • Proficiency with a wide range of AV equipment, including projectors, sound systems, video conferencing tools, lighting systems, and control interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of AV signal flow, wiring, and connectivity.
    Strong knowledge of streaming platforms
  • Familiarity with AV software and tools for video editing, sound mixing, and control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Experience with Jira, Google, macOSX, Mobile Devices, Windows, Streaming Platforms, Jira, JamF, InTune/Azure

THE EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in audiovisual technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

THE CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant certifications such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist), AVIXA, or equivalent are a plus.

THE WORK ENVIRONMENT AND EMPLOYMENT TYPE:

  • ONSITE QUARTERLY CONSULTANT - IRVINE CA US-Resident, US- Authorized Required
  • Ability to work flexible hours, as required by event schedules
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy AV equipment and materials
  • Travel may be required to support events at various locations
  • Acceptable as either W2 or 1099. Contract hours - not full time
