Key Responsibilities

  • Offer engineering assistance to the production floor within the department.
  • Develop, sustain, and enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Effectively manage the seamless integration of engineering modifications into production.
  • Create and establish operational guidelines in accordance with ISO standards.
  • Regularly monitor systems utilizing Key Performance Indicators such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Equipment Availability, and First Pass Yield (FPY).
  • Maintain precise facility layouts using AutoCAD software.
  • Promote and support enhancements in First Pass Yield, Final Audit Failure Rates, and Total Cost Reduction (TCR).
  • Design, assess, and enhance safety and ergonomic aspects of workstations and processes.
  • Develop, implement, and refine material handling systems to support lean manufacturing principles through analytical techniques.
  • Generate and execute cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure data integrity in automated systems on the production floor and guarantee the availability of parameters for engineering modifications.
  • Utilize data analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to drive enhancements.
  • Incorporate lean manufacturing principles across all areas of responsibility.
  • Create and assess value stream maps and designs.
  • Design and develop new equipment and fixtures to optimize manufacturing operations.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the facility.
  • Analyze product requirements, design process/mathematical models to fulfill those requirements, and implement process modifications.
  • Investigate innovative process technologies, prepare business cases for implementation, and execute plans.
  • Conduct business analyses, including cost-benefit assessments for new product launches, processes, and engineering modifications.
  • Work independently with a significant degree of autonomy.
  • Address the most intricate issues and challenges.
  • May provide guidance, coaching, and/or mentoring to junior engineers.
  • Occasionally analyze, discuss, and resolve complex engineering challenges with subcontractors and suppliers.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field – Required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably discrete manufacturing) – Required.
  • 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably discrete manufacturing) – Highly qualified individual – Required.
  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SPC, plant layout design, assembly line balancing, ergonomics, etc.
  • Demonstrates solid business acumen and understands its relation to engineering responsibilities.
