Job Summary

The Human Resources Director will play a critical role in shaping the employee experience and driving organizational success through strategic HR initiatives. This role requires a visionary leader who can assist executive leadership and operations management with the onboarding and offboarding of employees, create and enforce workplace policies and procedures, develop comprehensive compensation structures, and administer company benefits. The HR Director will also be responsible for coordinating new hire training, supporting executive leadership with HR strategy and planning, managing employee relations, and overseeing the full life cycle recruitment process. Additionally, this role includes ensuring compliance with all payroll administration requirements and maintaining a robust timekeeping and payroll system.

Key Responsibilities

Onboarding and Offboarding:

  • Partner with operations management to develop and implement effective onboarding processes that enhance employee engagement and retention.
  • Ensure a smooth transition for new hires and exiting employees.

Policies and Procedures

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve workplace policies and procedures to ensure they align with organizational goals and comply with legal standards.
  • Regularly review and update the employee handbook and communicate policy changes to all staff.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Develop and manage equitable and competitive compensation structures that attract and retain top talent.
  • Oversee the administration of company benefits programs, ensuring they are comprehensive, competitive, and cost-effective.
  • Conduct regular market analyses to ensure compensation and benefits packages remain attractive.

Training and Development:

  • Lead the creation and execution of new hire orientation and training programs that align with the company's values and goals.
  • Develop ongoing training and development programs to support employee growth, compliance, and career advancement.

HR Strategy and Planning:

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute a strategic HR plan that supports the company's long-term objectives
  • Provide insights and recommendations on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent management.

Employee Relations:

  • Foster a positive work environment through proactive employee relations strategies, conflict resolution, and effective communication.
  • Implement programs and initiatives that promote employee engagement, diversity, and inclusion.

Recruitment:

  • Oversee the full life cycle of recruitment, including job postings, applicant tracking, interviewing, selection, and onboarding.
  • Develop innovative recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external recruitment agencies and educational institutions

Payroll Administration:

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of weekly and certified payroll.
  • Manage the timekeeping and payroll systems, ensuring they are efficient and compliant with all regulations.
  • Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues promptly.

Compliance:

  • Ensure all HR activities and policies comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Stay abreast of HR best practices and legislative changes to ensure the organization's compliance and competitiveness.

Performance Management:

  • Develop and oversee a robust performance management system that aligns employee goals with organizational objectives.
  • Provide training and support to managers on effective performance management practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources management.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience with payroll administration and timekeeping systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to travel periodically as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR).
  • Experience working in the Energy or Industrial industry

Travel Required:

  • Up to 25% travel required

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with periodic travel required.
  • May require extended hours during peak periods.
