Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting/Collections Specialist to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. This position is crucial for assisting with the collection of receivables, including non-sufficient funds, fuel tax, audit assessments, and civil penalties. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of governmental accounting and possess strong communication skills to handle both verbal and written communications efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the collection of receivables, including non-sufficient funds, fuel tax, audit assessments, and civil penalties.

  • Process credit card and check transactions.

  • Conduct daily deposits, bank levies, bond claims, and transfers.

  • Validate, record, and report all revenues.

  • Perform account analysis and various tasks as assigned by upper management.

  • Handle daily tasks such as phone calls, reconciliations, and reviewing complex spreadsheets.

Essential Requirements:

  • Basic understanding and knowledge of governmental accounting.

  • Previous collections experience is helpful but not required.
