Job Title: Customer Service Representative – Remote
Reports to: Customer Service Supervisor/ Customer Service Manager
Salary: $24.00 - $30.00
* Starting pay varies based on location and experience, in compliance with specific state wage regulations. Competitive rates tailored to your geography and expertise.
Primary Responsibilities
- Answer calls in a timely and professional manner.
- Answer questions related to bills received by patients, insurance companies, and/or doctor’s offices.
- Process payments via the patient portal.
- Return patient calls received in voicemail from the previous days business.
- Update accounts with correct insurance information as appropriate.
- Monitors and responds to billing inquiry email boxes and responds appropriately.
- Provide patient estimates for upcoming procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Two years’ experience in customer service or related healthcare experience preferred.
- Demonstrates strong organization skills, attention to detail, with timely follow through.
- Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to accept constructive feedback and initiate appropriate actions to correct situations.
- Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Confidentiality Policies.
- Ability to stop and ask questions if uncertain about what is needed with certain situations.
- Ability to work with a positive attitude and be a team player.
Skills Requirements
- Must have prior customer service experience.
- Must demonstrate strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Word/Excel/Outlook, and payer portals.
- Must demonstrate ability to type 40+WPM required (alphanumeric & 10-key typing).
- Must demonstrate attention to detail in a deadline sensitive environment.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret certain documents, (i.e. EOB’s, statements).
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, and/or clients.
