SUMMARY
The Associate Director, Business Development will assist in identifying prospective partners and develop outbound sales tactics to engage them. Manages key client relationships and works to build new ones.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· The role of the Associate Director is to drive sales in a given territory to achieve the assigned sales target.
· This person will develop their territory’s tactical plan and is responsible for actively calling on targeted accounts and contacts to uncover sales opportunities and drive the sales process to successful deal closure.
· The Associate Director should possess in-depth knowledge of the biologic development and manufacturing process and be familiar with the regulatory requirements for biotherapeutics.
· The incumbent will conduct sales opportunity assessments and work closely with clients’ cross functional team and internal stakeholders to define project work scope, draft proposal, and negotiate contracts.
· The Associate Director will remain current on customers’ news, pipeline development, and funding status, as well as industry news, trends, regulatory guidelines, and key technology to be able to serve as consultant to customers.
· The BD Manager/Director should be a team player and able to contribute their technical and market knowledge with internal team members to help differentiate Tanvex CDMO’s service offerings in a very competitive market.
· The BD manager/Director will be capable of building and expanding Tanvex CDMO’s business reference network to help grow and develop new business opportunities.
Requirements:Education and experience
· Master’s or PhD degree in a life science discipline, or Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of biologic CDMO experience. MBA in marketing is a plus.
· Relevant sales or client interface experience required (5+ years) and a high level of technical and professional expertise in biologics.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
· In-depth knowledge of biopharmaceutical CDMO market and proven track record in meeting sales goals
· Ability to handle technical discussions with client’s cross functional teams and drive sales to successful deal closure.
· Strong interpersonal skill and team player
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and excel in time management and account prioritization.
