Under the administrative direction of the Director of Procurement the Materials Management Coordinator contributes to the company’s mission, vision, and values by ensuring instruments, supplies, and equipment purchased are researched to maximize cost effectiveness; maintaining accurate and complete records concerning ordering, receiving, and payment for such in a timely and cost-effective manner; operating independently as well as cooperatively; maintaining professional and effective working relationships with teammates; and demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to support superior patient care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Works with location managers, administrators and authorized personnel on procurement of goods and services.
  2. Responsible for supply expense management
  3. Establishes and maintains levels and related controls of supplies and equipment
  4. Responsible for purchases as necessary, utilizing purchase orders and checking orders received for accuracy and completeness
  5. Prepares goods for return as appropriate and responsible for shipment of all goods.
  6. Restocks inventory as needed
  7. Establishes and maintains PAR stock levels in all areas, with the cooperation of staff members
  8. Maintains knowledge base and utilization of contract pricing, keeping current
  9. Responsible for and oversees the biannual inventories, including accuracy of counts and their input into the dedicated software.
  10. Processes accounts payable, matching billing to invoices, coding and processing in conjunction with the Accounts Payable Clerk or designated staff.
  11. Confers with physicians and nursing staff on special products or equipment needs and initiates trial use if indicated
  12. Performs related duties as required or directed
  13. Shift is Monday through Friday
  14. Travel: As needed for special events and between CCHS locations including Metro Memphis and Jackson, TN.

JOBS THIS POSITION DIRECTLY SUPERVISES

  • This position does not supervise any staff.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • High School Degree, preferred Four-year college degree in Business Administration, Engineering or medical related field Experience:
  • 3 years of work experience of In-depth understanding of healthcare, strategic planning, compliance, and regulatory requirement
  • Internal Candidates: Three (3) years procurement experience
  • Experience in a healthcare setting involving both outpatient practice and inpatient management responsibilities.
  • Experience in Facilities Maintenance, Procurement, Project Management

Licenses or Certifications: None.

Mental Requirements

Level 1 – Requires some concentration and normal attention. Generally, once the job is learned, the tasks can be performed more or less automatically.

Level 2 – Requires high periods of concentration intermittently and normal attention. Generally, even once the job is learned, tasks will require normal attention to deal with recurring variables.

Level 3 – Requires a high level of concentration and high level of attention intermittently. Generally, the approach to tasks may be consistent, but the number of steps required and/or the number of variables involved creates the possibility of errors unless the incumbent pays close attention.
