The Corporate Environmental Health and Safety Manager will have full-time environmental, health and safety responsibilities for Essential Cabinetry Group's three manufacturing locations, ensuring that practices are in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other local and federal agencies, and is responsible for all regulatory programs and permit applications. This position will also develop and administer all EHS strategy and create and coordinate programs to strive for a "zero injury" culture.


Responsibilities

  • Support the CARE values of the organization.
  • Commit to producing a quality product for our customers.
  • Coach department managers and supervisors on trends discovered and behaviors observed.
  • Engage with front-line employees to create trust and understanding of safety processes and strategies.
  • Analyze incident history, behavioral trends, hazard reports, and plant audits to create plant improvement strategies.
  • Investigate incidents (injury, near-miss, property damage) and perform root cause analysis.
  • Assign, follow-up, and assure implementation of action items which result from incidents.
  • Coordinate with Workers Compensation carriers regarding incidents which result in medical treatment.
  • Hazardous material training and tracking (communications, chemical hygiene, work implementation planning)
  • Track and update SDS and waste profile records pertaining to new chemicals and hazardous waste.
  • Schedule and manage Safety Ambassador Teams; involve individuals to continue to develop and improve.
  • Host ongoing trainings or post-incident, departmental stand downs for small and large groups pertaining to OSHA 29 CFR 1910 & NAICS 337110 safety expectations.
  • Manage and ensure compliance with all regulatory programs
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of documented EHS experience OR 6 years of increasing EHS responsibilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; competent in speaking with all levels of organization.
  • Must be able to develop positive working relationships with all employees.
  • Thorough understanding of Federal and State EHS regulations

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Up to 30% travel could be required based on business needs.
