Position Summary

Responsible for selling PCA cable and wire products and services to prospective (or existing) customers in assigned territories/ regions, and identifying potential growth opportunities for premise copper, fiber optic, and electronic cables.

Management Responsibilities

  • Employ strategic selling skills promoting PCA products and services.
  • Recruit, hire and manage sales agents to sell PCA cables and products in designated territories.
  • Identify and secure distributors that stock and assist in supporting PCA sales in the region.
  • Develop and execute territory plans for each territory managed that includes specifying PCA to consultants, contractors, and end users.
  • Conduct technical product presentations as necessary to specify and promote PCA products.
  • Conduct direct sales activities with strategic end-users, consultants and contractors consistent with and in support of sales growth goals.
  • Secure appointments with leads.
  • Adopt and implement sales growth strategies consistent with the PCA Sales Team.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Evaluate customer needs for PCA products and services.
  • Develop and maintain base of customers, motivate, and manage distributors in region(s).
  • Provide monthly sales forecasts and New Business Opportunities.
  • Coordinate participation in trade shows/conferences within the territories.
  • Document correspondence with customers and distributors, including customer visits.
  • Execute regional sales plans, budgets, forecasts, and other management objectives as assigned.
  • Keep customers and distributors informed of new product developments. Maintain current marketing materials and literature.
  • Work with Inside Sales to prepare quotes for new and existing products for customers.
  • Manage key accounts in the region.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong prospecting skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organization skills
  • Excellent communications skills verbally and written
  • Well versed in selling techniques and methodologies
  • Able to understand customers’ needs quickly and able to communicate those needs
  • Interact and communicate concisely with C-level, Executive Management, Facilities personnel, etc.
  • Continuous development of product knowledge and technical skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Business, Marketing, Communication, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of related sales experience
  • Ability to learn product, product offering and services quickly
  • Experience and success in leveraging customer relationships to identify and develop new opportunities
  • Experience managing sales through distribution channels
  • Strong ability to influence decision-makers in a variety of industries
  • Technical understanding of the cable and wire products, business, technology and process 10+ years previous sales experience in wire and cable industry selling to distribution channels
  • Technical understanding of the cable and wire products and business, technology and process is required
  • Frequent travel, up to 50% by automobile, plane, train, etc. to customers, business meeting, conferences, and trade shows, etc.
