Job Duties 

  •  Responsible for day-to-day operation of site programs/services by building and maintaining a team and employing an empowerment approach to service provision.
  • Responsible for direct supervision and evaluation of staff members, conducting monthly supervision meetings with individual staff, assuring fiscal responsibility within departments, and acting as liaison between staff and other agency sites as necessary.
  • Ensure effective service delivery to service recipients and provide direct services when appropriate.
  • Maintain facility, staff, volunteer, and client confidentiality, assure adequate security and safety measures.
  • Emphasize and model importance of inter-departmental communication in building agency unity.
  • Responsible for supervision and scheduling of volunteers, acting as liaison with staff, volunteers, and Donations & Resources Coordinator.
  • Actively encourage departmental usage and guidance of volunteers.
  • Ensure adequate staff coverage of Legal Advocacy offices, being available to staff by telephone in case of emergencies.
  • Maintain daily computer data collection and necessary paperwork.
  • Supervise and ensure the daily and proper recording and reporting of all program statistics in a timely manner as required by funders and as directed by the Director of Client Services, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer.
  • Make prudent use of resources by monitoring consumption, minimizing waste, and offering suggestions for improving agency efficiency (e.g. travel expenses, office supplies).
  • Keep up-to-date with prevailing laws, statutes, and local procedures pertaining to domestic violence.
  • Assist in the development of tools for staff to adequately provide services. Assist in ensuring adequate staff training. Participate in outside meetings/trainings as relevant and assigned.
  • Participate in general advocacy activities on behalf of domestic violence victims on a local, state, and national level to assure an increased awareness of domestic violence issues by the general public and policy makers.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with and assist in trainings to law enforcement and judicial systems.
  •  Implement and supervise community outreach and systems advocacy for the Lethality Assessment Program.

Preferred Skills, Abilities, Education, Qualifications, and Experience

  • MSW/MA/BS/BA Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Final determination of suitability for employment will be contingent upon a successful:
    • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint processed in accordance with Public Law 92-522 and the Child Protective Services Law (Title 23, Pa C.S. Chapter 63), Federal Criminal History Background Check.
    • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance.
    • PA State Police Report of Criminal History Clearance.
