Facilities Assistant

Position Summary
The Facilities Assistant is responsible for completing tasks directly related to maintenance and upkeep of properties. The Facilities Assistant will assist in maintaining the properties in relation to state and Joint Commission standards.
Responsibilities
Assist with:
· Conducting fire and natural disaster drills according to state and Joint Commission standards.
· Environment of Care walkthroughs noting maintenance, safety, and repair issues.
· Keeping inventory of supplies for all properties
· Minor pool maintenance
· Vehicle maintenance, repair, and cleaning (with outside vendors)
· Collection and distribution of mail from the properties
· Assist the Facilities Coordinator with various duties related to maintenance and operations of the properties.
· Monitor and maintain compliance with West Health’s policies and procedures.
· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including documentation of repairs, inspections, and equipment inventory
· Ensure compliance with HIPAA, 42CFR regulations.
· Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications
· High School Diploma.
· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, apply professional judgment in solving difficult issues, and to communicate in a clear, precise, and professional manner.
· Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work effectively with people in a constructive manner within a community-based treatment setting.
· Current TB test, First Aid / CPR Certification
· Must complete random UA/breathalyzer tests to comply with company policy.
Skills
· General handyman skills, including but not limited to carpentry, general repairs, painting, and furniture assembly.
· Ability to work professionally with sensitive, proprietary data & information while maintaining confidentiality
· Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external
· Must be highly organized with attention to detail
· Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies
Physical Demands
Must be able to remain in a stationary position and/or prolonged periods standing and walking. Must be able to move about the facilities including ascending, descending stairs, and stepstools; bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl to complete various tasks, operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, be able to move and position items weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to perform work in a variety of weather conditions.
Work Environment
The work environment is a substance abuse and mental health treatment milieu. The individual will be exposed to varying indoor and, at times, outdoor conditions as part of the facility set-up and need of clients and/or staff members. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities. Evening, weekend, and holiday hours may be required.
