The Safety Coordinator is instrumental in the development of the safety program and culture. Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for assisting the Safety Department in designing and implementing an effective Accident Prevention Program.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance in the Plant Safety Program and all established rules and regulations of local, state, and federal agencies and the enforcement of all company safety rules and procedures.
  • Develop an Analysis Program to include the review of the Safety Program and Procedures, create Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Job Safety Analysis, and Job Hazard Analysis. Review and analysis of audits and inspections reports, review of education and training programs and record keeping.
  • Responsible for the reports and follow-up activities of the Plant Safety Council meetings, and the compliance of all required record-keeping.
  • Responsible for awareness in any changes occurring within the facility that may affect the plant’s safety program; to include changes in:
    1. Process chemicals
    2. Technology
    3. Equipment
    4. Procedures
    5. Any changes in the facility that effect the Plant Safety Program
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education, Skills and training
  • Minimum of high school diploma and five years’ experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in safety management:
  • Knowledgeable in OSHA Standards and Regulations in the Manufacturing Industry.
  • Knowledgeable in Workers Compensation Commission Standards and guidelines.
  • Some knowledge on other State regulatory agencies (EPA, State and Local Fire regulations).
  • Excellent communication skills
Managerial Requirements
  • Good supervisory skills---Must be able to demonstrate leadership ability and accept responsibility for set goals and objectives.
Technical Requirements
  • Microsoft applications

This position will report directly to the Director of Human Resources and Safety.

Must be able to travel to all locations.
