As a Safety and Security Specialist, you will be an integral part of the Safety and Risk Management Department, overseeing all security operations, emergency responses, and fire safety protocols at Jay Peak Resort.
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety of all property, personnel, and guests while they are on the premises.
As part of a cohesive team, you will help maintain a secure environment through patrols, documentation, reporting, and addressing safety and security concerns.
Additionally, you may assist with general guest services, such as delivering items to guest accommodations.
In emergency situations, you must remain composed and effectively balance guest relations with security responsibilities.
Your role will involve executing security operations and emergency response plans aimed at fostering a safe environment.
This will be achieved through the training and development of security personnel, who will be assigned specific duties to monitor and patrol all company property.
- Evening shifts from Sunday to Thursday, with a schedule that may change based on resort needs.
Implement all patrol operations, crisis management, emergency response, fire safety, physical security, information protection, incident management, and investigations.
Prevent damage and losses by executing operational plans and enforcing security and fire safety regulations.
Patrol operations will include, but are not limited to, monitored rounds and surveillance of all property (both developed and under construction) managed by Jay Peak.
This may involve focused patrols in high-traffic areas, such as outside dining facilities and liquor-licensed venues.
Crisis management and emergency response will encompass addressing injuries to employees and guests, providing first aid, CPR, or AED assistance.
Respond to incidents involving motor vehicle accidents, criminal activities, or guest conduct issues.
Conduct daily fire safety inspections to comply with state regulations.
Exercise sound judgment in challenging situations, knowing when to seek management guidance.
Be prepared to provide information about the amenities offered by the resort and local community.
Assist guests in various ways, including:
- Carrying luggage, sometimes up multiple flights of stairs in varying weather conditions.
- Coordinating snow removal for guests who may be stuck.
- Delivering items to guests (e.g., cots).
Must hold a valid driver's license.
Annual certification in First Aid/CPR/AED is required.
Possession of EMT status and/or Firefighter I certification may be necessary as situations arise.
Stay current with OSHA training requirements.
Ability to make sound decisions in difficult circumstances.
Pass a criminal background check.
Flexibility in scheduling is essential, including availability on weekends and holidays.
Ability to work independently during low occupancy periods (limited access to computers and non-business-related phone conversations).
