AE Design is seeking a highly motivated, Construction Administrator to lead a team managing projects under construction throughout Colorado and Nationwide. The ideal candidate will have 5+ of experience in Construction Administration for a variety of different project types. Strong client, general/electrical contractor, and consultant relationship management skills are required.

Most of all, your passion for accuracy will be expressed in the work that you do, collaborating both internally with the design team, and externally with our amazing clients and fellow sub-consultants. You will be involved in a variety of project types, from the beginning to the end of the construction process. You will work with internal design team members who were a part of the design team and coordinate history of the design to answer RFI's, provide submittal reviews for electrical equipment, and to perform Construction Observations and written reports.

What You Bring to the Table
  • An undergraduate degree in Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline

  • Experience in the AEC industry as an electrical engineering consultant or electrical contractor for 5+ years

  • Several years of experience in Construction Administration for a variety of different project types.

  • Experience reviewing submittals, performing site observations, and responding to RFIs

  • Working knowledge of past and current NEC Codes and familiar with related ICC Codes including IBC, IFC, and IECC

  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with AutoCAD and REVIT

  • The ability to communicate effectively with owners, clients, contractors as well as co-consultants

  • Extensive construction knowledge and understanding of the construction process

How You'll Spend Your Day
  • Act as construction administration point of contact between the firm and the Contractor and/or Architect

  • Research and respond to RFI's, including discussions with internal team members who were involved in the project's design process

  • Review equipment submittals for compliance with construction documents

  • Perform periodic construction site visits and create corresponding Observation Report summary documents

  • Evaluate and provide feedback to Change Orders and other contractor pricing during construction

  • Mentor junior staff in Construction Administration best practices and create and maintain strong, productive team relationships

  • Peer review design documents, schematics, and spec sheets as a part of AE Design's quality control process

  • Perform pre-design site observations for the purpose of detailing existing electrical building conditions

  • Electrical Commissioning, primarily to support IECC required commissioning. Previous commissioning experience is a plus but not required
