Job Description:

We are looking to expand our HR team with talented individuals who are passionate about people and driven to create a positive and productive work environment. This role/these roles will be focused on supporting our affiliate companies and their specific needs. We are seeking versatile human resource professional who will play a crucial role in supporting our HR functions. The ideal candidate will have a specialization in either H2B onboarding and payroll processing for seasonal workforce, as an HR Business Partner focusing on operational personnel support, or in onboarding, retention, and offboarding. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.

This role will support one or more of our affiliate companies, and the specific responsibilities, role, and salary will be dependent on qualifications, fit, and assigned area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:General HR Responsibilities:
  • Administer day-to-day HR activities including employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance.
  • Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees and management on HR-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives to improve processes and employee experience.
Specialization 1: H2B Onboarding & Payroll Processing
  • Manage the end-to-end H2B visa process, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Coordinate with external agencies and legal counsel to facilitate visa applications and renewals.
  • Conduct orientation and onboarding for H2B employees, ensuring a smooth integration into the workforce.
  • Monitor and manage the status of H2B employees throughout their employment cycle.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with H2B workers to support retention and satisfaction.
  • Process payroll for H2B employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain payroll records and generate reports as needed.
Specialization 2: HR Business Partner (Operational Personnel Support)
  • Partner with department heads to understand their HR needs and provide strategic HR support.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive work environment.
  • Assist in workforce planning, talent development, and performance management.
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and provide resolution recommendations.
  • Support change management initiatives and organizational development projects.
Specialization 3: Onboarding, Retention & Offboarding
  • Develop and implement effective onboarding programs to ensure new hires are integrated successfully.
  • Monitor and enhance employee retention strategies to reduce turnover and improve engagement.
  • Manage the offboarding process to ensure a smooth transition for departing employees.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze feedback to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with managers to address retention challenges and develop solutions.
  • Track and report on onboarding and retention metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in HR, with a focus on either H2B onboarding and payroll processing, as an HR Business Partner, or in onboarding, retention, and offboarding.
  • Proficient understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferrable experience with ATS systems, HRIS systems and/or payroll systems
  • Experience with payroll processing systems and practices is a plus for the H2B specialization.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is not required, but a plus.
  • Union experience a plus
