What You Will Do

 

As the Manager of Extended Learning at Achievement Prep, your core purpose revolves around overseeing all aspects of extended learning initiatives. This includes managing After School Clubs, fostering partnerships with mission-aligned organizations, coordinating After School Tutoring sessions, and ensuring the smooth operation of Before Care and After Care Programming. Your role is instrumental in shaping the vision, setting benchmarks, and executing strategies to enhance the overall extended learning experience for Achievement Prep students.

 

Reporting to the Managing Director, Operations  : 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vision and Benchmark Creation:
    • Develop a comprehensive vision for Achievement Prep's internal Before Care and After Care Programming resulting in a scholar and family facing handbook 
    • Establish clear benchmarks and objectives to measure the success and impact of extended learning initiatives.
    • Manage scholar  enrollment into extend learning programming
    • Manage and track discipline during extend learning times
    • Create Calendar and Schedule for Extend Learning Programming 
  • Staffing and Recruitment:
    • Devise a staffing plan to ensure adequate coverage and support for Before Care and After Care Programming.
    • Implement a robust internal recruitment strategy to attract qualified individuals who align with Achievement Prep's mission.
    • Develop contingency plans to address unexpected staffing shortages and ensure uninterrupted program delivery.
  • Procurement Management:
    • Oversee the procurement process for After School Clubs, tutoring services, and external partnerships.
    • Manage the budget allocated for extended learning activities, ensuring efficient allocation of resources while adhering to financial guidelines.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with external vendors and partners to secure favorable terms and maximize value for Achievement Prep.
  • Program Operations:
    • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of Before Care and After Care Programming, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for students.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align extended learning activities with academic goals and curriculum standards.
    • Monitor program effectiveness and gather feedback from students, parents, and staff to identify areas for improvement and innovation.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • 5+ years of experience as a teacher of record in a K – 8 setting
  • 1+ years of experience as a People Leader (Managing adults)
  • 1+ years of experience working with children in historically underserved communities

It Would Be Nice for You to Have

  • A Master’s degree in education
  • Teacher leadership experience (grade level lead, department chair, mentor teacher, etc.)
  • Networking experience to build relationships
