Job Title: Transformation Engineer (Mechanical)


Job Description: In coordination with USAG Fort Eisenhower DPW synchronize, plan and integrate construction, renovation, modernization and demolition projects for the CCOE. Review and provide feedback to update DD 1391's for various construction, renovation/modernization and demolition projects on FEGA. Work with Fort Eisenhower tenants to plan, develop and submit all required planning documents to include but not limited to (DA 4283, DD 1391 with tabs, site approval and conversion requests) to meet the Installation Management Command (IMCOM), Army G9 and TRADOC requirements and timelines. Work with the installation master planning team to analyze future project requirements, impacts to utilities, traffic, environmental, pedestrian movement, parking and other facilities at Fort Eisenhower. Provide design reviews comments documenting user requirements as found in supporting planning documents, design guides, Army regulations and applicable codes for approximately 6 submittals each year. Coordinate and review concept plans and designs from project initiation through completion. Ensure sustainability requirements are included in plans and monthly submissions are entered into the installation database of record. Participate in inspection of project sites to ensure plans are followed and environmental laws and rules are adhered to including but not limited to those governing asbestos abatements, lead base paint certification, disposal tracking notification to State and local agencies and storm water discharge permitting. Develop required planning documentation to include DA 4283 or DD 1391 with all TABs and cost analysis, site approvals and other requirements for approximately 10 repair projects each year. Serve as transformation directorate representative during the design of interior layouts for approximately 600+ classrooms, laboratory training areas, and administrative spaces for the CCOE. Work with USAG FEGA DPW and United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) representatives to ensure CCOE requirements are articulated and incorporated into individual project design/construction teams.


Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • Proof of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or other written test required for professional registration by a State Engineering licensure board

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Six years of professional experience in mechanical engineering
  • 5 years of experience or proven technical knowledge of technical design and review
  • Experience with military construction projects and familiarity with DD Form 1391 military construction data.
  • Experience using scheduling software such as Microsoft Project
  • At least 1 year experience using AutoCAD LT or equivalent computer aided design software, such that contractor shall be capable of making classroom layouts, site drawings and proposed modifications to facilities in all facility engineer disciplines and meeting standard Computer aided design standards of the US Army Corps of Engineers design contracts.

Travel:

Contractor travel will be position and function dependent. Travel will be from FGGA to various CONUS locations to support transformation initiatives. Employee will be authorized travel expenses consistent with the substantive provisions of the Joint Travel Regulation (JTR) and the limitation of funds specified in this contract.
